Chia Seed Recipes

Honey Wheat Bread with Chia Seeds for Bread Machines

This recipe makes 1 large loaf of bread.

Ingredients

1/2 of a cup of whole-wheat flour

2 1/2 of a cup of white bread flour

1 1/2 Tablespoon of Honey

1 1/2 Tablespoon of dry milk

1 1/2 teaspoon of salt

1 1/2 teaspoon of fast-rising yeast or bread machine yeast

1/4 cup chia seeds

1 cup of lukewarm water

2 Tablespoons of softened butter

Directions

In a large bowl, mix all the dry ingredients together except the yeast and Chia set aside. Place the water and softened butter in the pan for the bread machine. Add the dry ingredients from the bowl. Make a well in the center of the flour and pour the yeast into it. mahyco

Place pan in bread machine and set it on wheat bread setting and on the desired darkness of crust. Press start to begin mixing the bread, and, at the appropriate time, the machine will sound an alert that it is time to add the chia foods (this holds true for other additions such as fruit or nuts). Add the Chia and allow the bread to finish. Remove the bread when it finishes baking and let it cool on a wire rack for at least 30 to 60 minutes before slicing.
